1. Ishan Kishan – Rs. 15.25 Cr:
This year Ishan Kishan has won the title of most expensive IPL player of 2022 with a whopping amount of Rs. 15.25 Cr. He was purchased by Mumbai Indians which he belonged earlier.
This young wicket-keeper and firing batsman has proven his skills and talent from time to time. He is currently the fiercest and most talented sportsman.
Initially, he was released by Mumbai Indians. But, he refused to accept the offers of Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Kings and returned to the auction pool. Later, he was bought by MI paying Rs. 15.25 Cr.
2. Deepak Chahar – Rs. 14 Cr:
Deepak has been playing for CSK last 6 years and wanted to continue in the yellow jersey. The bid started with a base price of Rs. 2 Cr. where DC and SRH were competing. CSK enters the bid at Rs. 11 Cr. and secured him for Rs. 14 Cr.
3. Shreyas Iyer – Rs. 12.25 Cr:
The bidding war opened with a base price of Rs. 2 Cr. for Shreyas Iyer. DC (Delhi Capitals), LSG (Lucknow Super Giants), RCB (Royal Challengers Banglore), GT (Gujarat Titans), and KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) were in the bidding war for him.
Shreyas was playing for DC before and had led DC to two playoffs under his captaincy. He is a skilled batsman, is in perfect form for this IPL, and has become one of the most expensive players in IPL.
4. Liam Livingstone – Rs. 11.5 Cr:
Liam Livingstone an All-rounder of England was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs. 11.5 Cr. He is the most expensive overseas player in IPL 2022. He made his debut in IPL in 2021 and was playing for Rajasthan Royals.
Liam’s bid war started from a base price of Rs. 1 Cr. KKR, CSK, PBKS, GT, and SRH were bidding against each other for him. This All-rounder has proven his batting skills frequently. He was bought by RR for just Rs. 70 lakhs in IPL 2021 and now he is the most expensive overseas player.
5. Shardul Thakur – Rs. 10.75 Cr:
Shardul Thakur an Indian pacer was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 10.75 Cr. He is currently the best pacer on the Indian team and is included in every ODI and T20I match.
He was playing from CSK in the last 4 IPL seasons. His auction started with a base price of Rs. 2 Cr. PBKS, GT, DC, and CSK were competing against each other. At last, DC bagged him for Rs. 10.75 Cr.
This power-packed bowler is known for breaking partnerships. He is also called as ‘Lord’ by his fans. He has proven his skills and importance from time to time.
6. Wanindu Hasaranga – Rs. 10.75:
Wanindu Hasaranga a Sri-Lankan Allrounder was added by RCB in its fleet. He is a proficient spinner and most known for his googly. In the last IPL, he played as a replacement player for RCB.
The bidding war started with a base price of Rs. 1 Cr. SRH and PBKS also showed interest in him but RCB bagged him for Rs. 10.75 Cr. He has a very little experience with IPL so far.
But, his performance in international tournaments has uplifted his mark and forced IPL franchises to bid for him and became one of the most expensive players in IPL.
7. Harshal Patel – Rs. 10.75 Cr:
Harshal has been playing in red jersey for the last two IPL seasons. The bid started with a base price of Rs. 2 Cr. and was initiated by RCB. CSK and SRH were also interested but CSK left the chat after Rs. 4.2 Cr. and SRH left at Rs. 10.50 Cr.
8. Nicholas Pooran – Rs. 10.75 Cr:
The bidding war started between CSK and SRH with a base price of Rs. 1.5 Cr. CSK left as the price went above Rs. 5.25 Cr and KKR entered. As SRH was not willing to give up till the end they purchased Pooran for a whopping Rs. 10.75 Cr.
Nicholas was playing for PBKS for the last 3 IPL seasons and had impressed fans with his performance.
9. Lockie Ferguson – Rs. 10 Cr:
The base price was Rs. 2 Cr and a bidding war started between DC, GT, RCB, and LSG. Gujarat Titans were more interested in him than any other franchise. GT was in the bidding war from the beginning and was willing to pay the price.
Lockie was playing for KKR last 3 IPL seasons and had an average performance. His last IPL season performance was better.
10. Avesh Khan – Rs. 10 Cr:
CSK, LSG, MI, and SRH were in the bidding war for him. His base price was 20 lakhs and CSK started the bid. LSG was in the bid from the beginning and was not willing to back out. He was sold for 25 times his base price.
He was playing for DC for the last 4 IPL seasons and his performance in the last IPL season was noteworthy which made bidders bid more for him.
